Esse homem pertencia a uma família do Tennessee, os Bell, cuja casa foi assombrada por um espírito, entre os anos de 1818 e 1820. A perseguição só terminou com a morte de um dos membros da família. Um documento encontrado em 1998 permitiu desvendar uma parte do mistério.
