Depois de 15 anos morando no exterior, Amanda volta para casa com seu namorado francês Martin. Eles chegam na enorme fazenda da família, localizada num vilarejo isolado nas intermináveis planícies do sul do Brasil. Lá, Amanda encontra o pai em coma e uma tensão cada vez maior entre os trabalhadores. A única médica no vilarejo próximo é Helô, uma mulher que renuncia a si mesma para tratar os habitantes da cidade. A iminente morte do dono da fazendo coloca Amanda, Martin e Helô no centro de um perturbador acordo entre o vilarejo e os donos da fazenda.
