A história começa na Coréia, durante a Dinastia Chosen, com o nascimento da filha de um poderoso rei. Um monge fala para o rei dos perigos que cercam o nascimento da menina: a encarnação do dragão chamado Imoogi e que ela seria a chave para a sobrevivência da humanidade. O Monge treina um jovem aprendiz a lidar com o emergente Imoogi com o único objetivo de proteger a garota até o seu vigésimo aniversário. Quando o dia fatídico chega, a cidade é invadida e apenas o aprendiz é deixado para salvar a menina. Mesmo tendo o poderoso pingente chamado "Yeouijoo" com ele, o aprendiz falha. À medida que nos movemos para os dias atuais, uma força poderosa, tão forte quando um terremoto, atinge a cidade de Los Angeles.
