Rondon, foi responsável pela incorporação ao território brasileiro de uma grande soma de terras, sendo responsável pelos rumos que assumiria a política indigenista no Brasil, não mais de extermínio mas integracionista. O documentário foi realizado a partir de filmes inéditos da época da Comissão Rondon feitos pelos documentaristas Luiz Thomaz Reis e Heinz Foerthman - este filmes foram cedidos pela Fundação Cinemateca Brasileira e pertencem ao Mudeu do Índio e ao IBAC. Além de imagens dos vestígios da passagem de Rondon pela Reserva Indígena Nhambiquara, no sul de Rondônia, o documentário traz depoimentos de netas de Rondon, do historiador José Murilo de Carvalho e do antropólogo Darcy Ribeiro, entre outros.
