James (Paul Terry) e seus pais sempre sonharam em ir para Nova York, a cidade "onde os sonhos se realizam". Mas depois que um incidente deixa o menino orfão, James vai morar com suas tias crueis, que o maltratam. Até o dia em que um homem misterioso lhe entrega um pacote com uma estranha receita. De repente, ele descobre que, nas redondezas, nasceu um pêssego do tamanho de uma casa. Lá dentro, ele se torna amigo de insetos que moram na fruta e vive uma mágica aventura.
