Uma viagem pelos caminhos por onde se constrói o movimento hip-hop em São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. O filme apresenta jovens desconhecidos que integram o movimento e algumas de suas principais expressões como Thaíde e Mano Brown, além de África Bannbaataa, Nelson Triunfo, Lady Rap, Shyrlane e outros. Eles têm em comum o esforço para fortalecer suas identidades, a revalorização de aspectos culturais africanos, a recuperação da auto-estima e a compreensão da complexidade social através das manifestações culturais criadas nas favelas e periferias. A indústria cultural também é questionada, pois os hip-hoppers driblam o sistema de produção hegemônico para formar uma nova esfera de ação ética, estética e política.
