A dançarina Elena e o intérprete de linguagem de sinais Dovydas se conhecem quando ele vai “traduzir” as aulas de Elena para um grupo de alunos surdos, e assim acaba surgindo uma grande empatia entre os dois e formam um belo vínculo. Ao mergulharem em um novo relacionamento, eles precisam descobrir como construir seu próprio tipo de intimidade. A partir daí, o que se segue é a tentativa de adaptação às restrições que o destino colocou no caminho para esse casal, quase antagônicos no âmbito sexual, por isso que o filme faz questão de ressaltar o passado um tanto quanto promíscuo de Elena e sua vida sempre sexualmente muito ativa e sem apego a seus parceiros.
