A Revolução dos Bichos, de George Orwell, se passa numa granja liderada, inicialmente, pelo Sr. Jones. Porém, insatisfeitos com a dominação, os animais decidem fazer uma revolução. Eles se organizam e expulsam o Sr. Jones da granja, pois não aceitam mais ser tratados como escravos dos humanos. Os porcos passam a liderar a granja, considerando-se os animais mais inteligentes. Na adaptação, a fábula de Orwell é transformada num musical e a linguagem utilizada se inspira nos cabarés alemães.
