No futuro distante, a guerra destruiu todo o planeta, deixando apenas uma terra estéril chamada Sand Land, onde a distribuição de água é controlada por um rei ganancioso. Em procura de um lago perdido há muito tempo, o Xerife Rao pede ajuda ao rei dos demônios, que envia seu filho, Beelzebub (Belzebu), e seu assistente, Thief (Ladrão). Juntos, o trio parte em uma jornada para atravessar o deserto, lutando contra dragões, bandidos e também contra o inimigo mais mortal... o Exército do Rei!"
