Durante uma missão de resgate para evacuar um grupo de missionários, durante a retirada militar dos EUA em 2021 do Afeganistão, um helicóptero da equipe SEAL é abatido por um grupo de insurgentes. Um dos operadores da equipe SEAL, Master Chief Richard Mirko, é jogado dos destroços, sobrevivendo milagrosamente ao acidente. Com o resto de sua equipe morta em ação, Mirko continua sua busca pelos missionários, mas encontra seu veículo emboscado e o único sobrevivente: uma criança traumatizada de 5 anos. Mirko deve agora guiar a criança com segurança, através do confronto com insurgentes, e sobrevivendo ao brutal deserto afegão.
