O Motel Melati era originalmente um antigo casarão colonial holandês, transformado em uma pousada. A casa pertenceu a um médico local chamado Kusno, que realizava secretamente experimentos desumanos em cadáveres. Após a chegada de Melati, uma jovem da vila com conhecimento oculto que não acredita em folclore, revela-se que a casa e seus habitantes são amaldiçoados pelos espíritos dos mortos. Ao aceitar a maldição da sombra, Melati ganha vida eterna e espera ressuscitar seus filhos.
