O sargento Mike Donato (Charles Bronson) da policia de Los Angeles, é um policial veterano e durão que trabalha com a linda tenente Dena Donato (Dana Delany), sua filha e policial bem conceituada. Apesar das constantes discussões entre os dois policiais, eles se unem para caçar um perigoso serial killer, responsável pelo assassinato de freiras e que está deixando um rastro de sangue pelas ruas da cidade. Para desvendar os crimes e capturar o assassino, primeiro eles precisam resolver seus problemas pessoais, mas o tempo está acabando e o serial killer se torna cada vez mais audacioso. Seu novo alvo agora é a própria Dena que precisa ser protegida por seu pai e a força policial antes que seu sangue seja derramado pelo terrível assassino.
