O movimento de resistência dos moradores da Favela do Vidigal contra a ordem de remoção, capítulo importante da história do Rio de Janeiro, na década de 1970. A vitória popular, após três anos de luta, foi coroada com a visita do Papa João Paulo II à favela, em 1980. Esse episódio foi determinante para o fim da política de remoção em grande escala posta em prática pelos governos estaduais na década de 1960.
