Fora da banda, com problemas mentais agravados pelo uso de drogas psicodélicas, viveu longe dos holofotes e deixou alguns discos cultuados por seus fãs. O filme reúne os quatro membros da banda, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason e Richard Wright e muitos outros personagens que conviveram com Syd para contar sua história e lhe prestar um merecido tributo.
