Naoto Ihara vive feliz com a esposa Miyuki e o filho Haruto. Porém, quando Miyuki morre em um acidente, Naoto fica inconsolável. Haruto, em negação, decide enterrar um dedo da mãe no jardim na esperança de que, rezando todos os dias, ela volte à vida. Um dia, pai e filho são visitados por Hiroko Kurasawa, ex-colega de trabalho de Naoto. Mas o que era para ser uma simples visita a um amigo assolado pelo luto, toma um rumo macabro quando ela testemunha Haruto gritando palavras estranhas no quintal, e uma série de acontecimentos sombrios começam a perturbá-la.
