Talita é sua filha (Cidinha Santos), mas ela não quer nada com ele, porque ama Reinaldo (Paulo Marson). Epaminondas e seu bando planejam a morte do rapaz, jogando a culpa no Capitão Gregório. Giseli (Neusa Silveira) passa a odiar Gregório e o capitão, cheio de constrangimento, tenta explicar que seu pai, Seu Felipe (Alegre Parada) também foi morto pelos capangas do coronel.
