Em September 5, uma equipe de jornalistas esportivos precisa mudar sua cobertura radicalmente quando atletas são feitos de reféns dentro da Vila Olímpica. O drama histórico conta a história do Massacre de Munique, atentado que aconteceu nos Jogos Olímpicos de Verão de 1972 na Alemanha, a partir do ponto de vista da equipe de transmissão da ABC Sports. Na noite de 5 de setembro de 1972, um grupo terrorista chamado Setembro Negro invadiu a Vila Olímpica e fez 11 atletas da delegação israelense de reféns. Então, os jornalistas esportivos que estavam cobrindo o evento tiveram que mudar radicalmente a pauta para noticiar ao vivo o que estava acontecendo durante o sequestro que viria a se tornar o maior atentado terrorista a acontecer em um evento esportivo até hoje.
