O andarilho com a cabeça raspada, envolto em um manto vermelho, vaga descalço. Lentamente, mas com determinação, caminha pela floresta, passa por pedras bizarras e pela pradaria. Ele também anda pelas sombras das árvores e das casas; coloca os pés na estação de trem, na igreja e no museu. O sol nasce e se põe, e o caminhante atravessa uma cidade chamada Washington D.C. Seguindo os caminhos do andarilho ou não, um forasteiro também está se perdendo por ali. O filme é o décimo título da série "Walker," de Tsai Ming-liang, iniciada em 2011. Por mais de uma década, o ator Lee Kang-sheng, colaborador de longa data do diretor, interpreta Xuanzang, o monge da dinastia Tang que vagou a pé pelo mundo.
