O filme conta a história de “O Sapo Maluco”, baseado na obra “The Wind In The Willows” de Kenneth Grahame. J. Thaddeus Toad é o milionário dono da mansão Toad Hall, mas suas manias e costumes extravagantes o têm enchido de dívidas. Seus amigos Mole, Rat e Badger são os que tentam manter a situação instável, pois ao contrário o Sapo corre o risco de perder sua mansão. Quando J. Thaddeus fica obcecado por sua mais nova mania – um automóvel motorizado – ele é injustamente acusado de roubar um carro. Agora resta aos seus amigos salvarem o Sr. Sapo e recuperar Toad Hall das mãos das doninhas.
