Em uma pequena ilha japonesa, a vida gira em torno das mudanças das estações. O inverno é época de hóquei no gelo na escola, mas Takuya não demonstra muita animação com isso. O verdadeiro interesse do garoto está em Sakura, uma estrela em ascensão da patinação artística de Tóquio, por quem ele desenvolve um fascínio genuíno. Arakawa, treinador e ex-campeão da modalidade, vê potencial em Takuya e decide orientá-lo para formar uma dupla com Sakura para uma competição que acontecerá em breve. Enquanto o inverno se prolonga, os sentimentos se aprofundam, e os dois jovens criam um vínculo harmonioso. Mas até mesmo a primeira neve acaba derretendo.
