Os Portões de Garash se abrem e tentáculos de uma criatura espacial que parece um polvo gigantesco se enroscam nos pescoços de terráqueos para que a criatura se "una" a eles. Fry é o primeiro a se unir à criatura e torna-se o líder de um movimento para unir todos os terráqueos com a criatura. Kif morre ao ir explorar a criatura, e Amy fica inconsolável. Ela e Leela fogem com Zap Brannigan para escapar da 'união', e um triângulo amoroso é criado. Bender se junta à secreta Liga dos Robôs.
