Uma equipe militar de elite (SG-1) precisa voltar às pressas para a Terra quando dois de seus membros desaparecem inexplicavelmente. Mas acabam voltando ára um mundo no qual o Stargate - um portal estelar criado pelos Antigos e que permite viagens a centenas de planetas - nunca foi descoberto, e no qual a sua própria história nunca existiu. Agora eles têm que convencer um governo incrédulo que a linha do tempo foi alterada por um poderoso inimigo alienígena (Ba´al) que deseja conquistar a Terra. E precisam fazer isso depressa, pois o tempo não é seu aliado.
