Essa viagem é a matéria-prima de Boom Shankar, único filme dirigido por Guará Rodrigues, personagem mítico do cinema brasileiro, tanto como ator, quanto por trás das câmeras, como assistente de alguns dos maiores diretores do período. Aquele filme sumiu antes de seu lançamento, mas alguns fragmentos recentemente encontrados são combinados com depoimentos de integrantes da viagem que recuperam o espírito libertário e pioneiro da época.
