Uma adaptação do conto Berenice de Edgar Allan Poe para o Brasil ao final do século XIX. Sinopse: Egeu e Berenice são primos que apesar de terem passado a vida toda juntos, são o completo oposto um do outro. Egeu é um rapaz que sofre de monomania, uma doença que te prende dentro de sua própria cabeça, por isso que ele passa seus dias enfurnado dentro de sua biblioteca. Já Berenice é cheia de vida, gentil e inteligente até que uma doença toma conta de si, algo que não tem nome, que chega sem fazer alarde, mas rapidamente tira tudo de si, e isso desperta uma certa fascinação em Egeu.
