Na Coréia do século XVII, uma renomada escola forma guerreiros para proteger a capital e as fronteiras de ataques estrangeiros. Choi Ji-Hwan (Min-su Choi) e Yun Gyu-Yeob (Jae-hyeon Jo) são dois grandes amigos treinados ali. Depois da formatura, são enviados a diferentes pontos do país. Yun une-se a um grupo que quer derrubar o imperador e uma de suas únicas tarefas é matar Choi. Cinco anos se passam e uma série de assassinatos extermina os oficiais de alto escalão. Yun, o principal guerreiro, é incumbido de acabar com o vingador e captura sua ajudante, a bela Shi-Yeong (Bo-kyeong Kim), para que o líder venha em seu resgate. Ele não descobre que seu amigo antigo não está morto, como imaginava. O reencontro dos dois culminará na batalha final. Mas, desta vez, não lutarão do mesmo lado.
