Até os 32 anos, Jéssica Barbosa acreditava que Judith Alves Macedo, sua avó paterna, havia falecido num acidente de carro. A história que lhe era contada desde a infância ganhou uma reviravolta quando a atriz se deparou com uma fotografia num livro e ouviu um relato familiar, gatilhos que dispararam nela a busca pela história real de Judith. A mulher negra, mãe de cinco filhos, fora internada compulsoriamente num hospital psiquiátrico, onde permaneceu até a sua morte, em 1958. É sobre as buscas e descobertas dessa história, permeada pelo silenciamento das vozes femininas e questões que atravessam o sistema manicomial que trata “EM BUSCA DE JUDITH”, espetáculo idealizado por Jéssica e Pedro Sá Moraes, que também assina a direção.
