Anita – A guerreira de dois mundos procura retratar a história de Anita Garibaldi em dois momentos na sua vida, na adolescência e na fase adulta. Com ampla trajetória em acontecimentos históricos como a Revolução Farroupilha (1835-1845), a Batalha dos Curitibanos (Brasil) e a Batalha de Gianicolo (Itália) – em conjunto com o seu marido Giuseppe Garibaldi –, o filme pretende homenagear uma mulher que foi fundamental para entender a história revolucionária do sul brasileiro, no século XIX. Procurando transitar entre os gêneros drama e musical, a narrativa está dividida em cinco atos, assim intitulados: Falso evangelho das rebeldes; A revolta dos insensatos; Salmo de sangue; As mentiras do Olimpo; O cemitério dos deuses.
