Dean (Jamie Bell) é um adolescente rebelde e alienado, que está sempre junto de seu amigo Troy (Josh Janowicz), que vende drogas na escola. Quando Troy se suicida, Dean prefere não contar algo à mãe dele. Entretanto Billy (Justin Chatwin), Lee (Lou Taylor Pucci) e Crystal (Camilla Belle) estão à procura de Dean, já que desejam comprar drogas e não encontram Troy. Dean se recusa a ajudá-los, o que faz com que o trio decida sequestrar o irmão mais novo dele. Porém o grupo sequestra a criança errada, o que faz com que Dean tenha que salvar alguém que sequer conhece.
