Mike descobre que ser o melhor colecionador de gargalhadas da Monsters, Inc. tem seus benefícios, como ganhar dinheiro suficiente para comprar um carro com tração nas seis rodas carregado de gadgets. Esse cheiro de carro novo não dura o tempo suficiente, no entanto, quando Sulley inicia um infeliz teste de estrada que ensina a Mike o verdadeiro significado do remorso do comprador. O orgulho de Mike em suas novas rodas só é superado pela falta de habilidades de Sulley no painel de controle. Os dois finalmente concordam em uma coisa: caminhar para o trabalho pode ser o melhor, pelo menos hoje.
