Quando o conhecido escritor Dries é abordado por três músicos deficientes que pedem que ele seja o baterista na banda deles, termina ficando intrigado e concorda. Cada um dos parceiros de banda tem suas próprias excentricidades e psicoses e lentamente Dries começa a gostar de estar neste mundo, enquanto a banda prepara sua única apresentação, em um festival de rock local. Um dos integrantes é quase surdo, o outro não pode mover um braço e o terceiro é um estuprador e um assassino. Dries, por sua vez, é um autêntico niilista sarcástico e acha que pode encontrar nisso um bom material para escrever seu próximo livro.
