Afluente é um ensaio fílmico que examina o processo de “redução” do rio São Francisco à eletricidade. Através de arquivos de imagens de meados do século XX e filmagens do século XXI, diferentes modulações da imagem do rio são apresentadas, prevalecendo aquelas nas quais o rio é visto como recurso. Essa visão, porém, não é a única possível, como evidenciam a emergência de vozes capazes de criar outras temporalidades e escutas de seu entorno, assim como a remontagem do próprio arquivo fílmico.
