Gibbs é professor e leciona em uma escola do ensino médio que, apesar de seus esforços, seus alunos o consideram chato. No entanto, ele se sente feliz por ensinar Ally, uma jovem celebridade local por quem é apaixonado. Apesar de seu comportamento inadequado em relação a ela, ele toma a iniciativa e se oferece para levá-la para casa. Mas algo inesperado acontece e quando Ally desaparece Gibbs é acusado de sequestro porque foi o último a estar com ela.
