Maia é uma adolescente que vive num bonito e pacífico planeta. O que ela e seus amigos não sabem, é que os últimos habitantes da Terra esgotaram seus recursos e agora buscam um novo lugar para habitar. Os humanos descobrem que o planeta de Maia pode ser uma solução, mas os nativos não suportarão as mudanças que serão necessárias e a raça acabará. Quando os terráqueos invadem o planeta, o pai de Maia é seqüestrado e ela rapta um piloto acidentado. Enquanto cuida dele, os dois se tornam amigos e criam um plano que poderia salvar as duas raças.
