Os namorados Fernanda e Duque vivem um romance proibido pelo pai dela, mas consentido pela mãe. Com a cumplicidade dos empregados da mansão, justamente os Trapalhões, a mãe empresta ao rapaz um colar de esmeraldas para ser penhorado e servir de investimento em um novo negócio. A jóia acaba caindo na mão de bandidos e precisa ser recuperada em um curto espaço de tempo. Os Trapalhões são enviados em missão de resgate, enfrentando agiotas e contrabandistas desde o Amazonas até Foz do Iguaçu.
