Após a Guerra Civil, o ex Coronel da União John Henry Thomas e o ex Coronel Confederado James Langdon estão comandando dois grupos diferentes de pessoas através do México conturbado. John Henry e companhia estão levando cavalos para o impopular governo mexicano por US $ 35 por cabeça, enquanto Langdon lidera um grupo de refugiados sulistas que estão à procura de uma nova vida no México, depois de perder suas propriedades para Carpetbaggers (negociantes do norte). Os dois homens são forçados a acertar suas diferenças, a fim de lutar contra os dois bandidos e revolucionários que, como eles, tentam levar os seus amigos e parentes para a segurança.
