Uma história fantástica sobre a crença e a coragem de um homem que fez de tudo para defender seus parceiros, até enfrentar um canhão. Na Índia de 1857, depois de cem anos servindo a Companhia Britânica das Índias Orientais, o país entrou em motim liderado por Mangal Pandey. Sua amizade com o oficial inglês William Gordon é abalada com a chegada de um novo rifle porque, para usar as balas, os indianos deveriam passar por cima de suas honras. Cada um, em situações de muita diversidade, encontra uma mulher para proteger, mas o despertar de uma nação depende da escolha de ambos. Um filme muito bem realizado, sobre um herói indiano, amor, perda e traição.
