O advogado Jacques Vergès surgiu na mídia nos anos 60. Defendia argelinos que mataram, em atentados em Argel, dezenas de franceses. Vergès mostrava seu lado anticolonialista. Mas o que se seguiu, a partir de então, foi que ele passou a defender a causa dos terroristas de Munique, de Carlos, o Chacal, de Klaus Barbie, o nazista conhecido como o Açougueiro de Lyon, de ditadores africanos, de Pol Pot, do Irã de Khomeini. O documentário não pende para lado algum. Deixa que os fatos, que seus participantes e que Vergès falem por si.
