Durante um voo de Nova York a Londres, o agente Neil Marks (Liam Neeson) recebe uma série de mensagens SMS enigmáticas, dizendo que um passageiro será morto a cada 20 minutos caso US$ 150 milhões não sejam transferidos para uma conta bancária. Inicialmente Beil não dá atenção à ameaça, mas quando o primeiro passageiro aparece morto ele inicia uma investigação em pleno avião sobre quem possa ser o assassino.
