Uma adaptação em live-action do clássico infantil de Johanna Spyri de 1880, Heidi. Acompanha a história da órfã Heidi, um filhote da raça labrador, que é enviada para viver nos Alpes com seu avô recluso, um velho cão pastor. Assim que se ajusta à nova vida nas montanhas, ela é levada embora por uma assistente social. De volta à cidade, Heidi passa a viver com Clara, que está muito doente. Até que Heidi decide partir em uma aventura para retornar às montanhas.
