História de um vendedor de linguiças (Amácio Mazzaropi), um homem simples às voltas com problemas de ordem familiar, adaptação ao meio e outros "bichos". Flora (Ilena de Castro) é empregada e rouba roupas de sua patroa para aparentar rica e conquistar um namorado da elite social. No entanto, ela e sua família são presos e vão parar na delegacia. O rapaz rico, Pierre (Amilton Fernandes), trama um passeio para Santos no intuito de encontrá-la e sua mãe tenta impedir o casamento, mas acaba aceitando. Por causa das diferenças de classe cada vez mais postas em evidência, a união é rompida. Todavia, arrependido, o jovem rico novamente desfaz a confusão e a harmonia volta a imperar.
