O filme "Maré, Nossa História de Amor" conta a história de Analídia (Cristina Lago), filha de um chefe do tráfico de drogas preso, que briga pelo poder com o irmão de Jonatha (Vinícius D'Black), na favela da Maré. Separados pelo 'apartheid' entre as facções rivais, eles encontram no grupo de dança da comunidade, dirigido por Fernanda (Marisa Orth), um refúgio para o amor, a arte, o sonho e a possibilidade de uma vida longe do crime. Jonatha é MC da comunidade e seu sonho é gravar um CD. Dividido entre os irmãos mais velhos _ Paulo (Flávio Bauraqui), idealista, trabalhador e amante do samba e Dudu (Babu Santana), irmão adotado, chefe de uma das facções que comandam o tráfico na favela, ele vive o dilema de aceitar ou não a ajuda deste último, que promete financiar sua carreira com o dinheiro das drogas.
