A banda Talking Heads apresenta suas músicas mais memoráveis em uma apresentação ao vivo filmada ao longo de três noites no Pantages Theater de Hollywood, em dezembro de 1983. Dirigido por Jonathan Demme (que faria mais tarde O Silêncio dos Inocentes e Filadélfia) a convite de David Byrne, o filme é um marco na história dos filmes de concerto musical. Stop Making Sense é estrelado pelos principais membros da banda, David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz e Jerry Harrison, além de Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry e Edna Holt.
