Decidido a cumprir uma promessa, ele decide levar seu filho Neco, de 9 anos, para assistir a um filme estrelado por Mazzaropi em uma sala de cinema, assim como fez seu pai quando era garoto. Desejando cumprir a promessa a qualquer custo, Quinzinho, sua esposa Zulmira, Neco e o burro Policarpo viajam pelas cidades em busca de um cinema que possa exibir o filme.
