Eddie Weinbauer, um adolescente metaleiro que sofre bullying na escola, busca orientação em seu ídolo superstar do heavy metal, Sammi Curr. Quando Curr morre em um incêndio em um hotel, Eddie se torna o destinatário da única cópia do álbum inédito de Curr, que, quando tocado ao contrário, traz Sammi de volta à vida. Conforme o Halloween se aproxima, Eddie começa a perceber que isso não é apenas rock 'n roll... é vida e morte.
