Tudo começa no aniversário de 60 anos do Sr. Chen. Para um dentista semi-aposentado, ainda em boa forma física e cheio de carisma, chegar aos 60 anos não é uma boa notícia. Sua esposa diz constantemente que ele agora é um homem velho; o namorado de sua filha insiste em que ele faça um seguro; seus filhos brigam por causa da hipoteca. O Sr. Chen só quer fugir. Logo, seu sonho se realiza quando ele se apaixona por uma diretora de jardim de infância. Mas, antes mesmo de uma semana se passar, sua esposa descobre e declara querer o divórcio. Ele aceita, deixando toda a família perplexa.
