O filme conta a história de uma família que sai para acampar nas montanhas da Carolina do Norte e que, graças a uma falha no GPS, vai parar em túnel rodeado por veículos abandonados. O pai da família, Peter Morris, desaparece e sua mulher e filhos correm em busca de refúgio em uma cabana próxima. Ali eles descobrem que as luzes avistadas perto do local, têm relação com uma série de abduções alienígenas e sacrifícios humanos que são praticados há anos Ao tentar alertar as autoridades, eles são descobertos pela ameaça alienígena, que a partir daí, tentam capturá-los custe o que custar.
