Disposta a tudo para fazer carreira artística, e estimulada pela sua ambiciosa mãe, Dona Helena, a go-go-girl de TV Zelinda, se lança à conquista de Borges, diretor do estúdio em que trabalha. Embora casado, ele se interessa pela moça e passa a promovê-la, incluindo-a em diversos shows e novelas. Borges começa a se apaixonar por Zelinda, mas fica apavorado quando descobre que ela ainda é virgem. Isso ameaça sua tranquilidade matrimonial e os planos de Dona Helena, que pretende casar sua filha com véu e grinalda.
