Alteradas geneticamente, elas são poderosas armas de guerra... Vietnã, 1971. A América está a beira de perder a guerra. Mas na selva Amazônica, um jovem cientista está desenvolvendo um processo capaz de alterar o estado das coisas. A idéia é transformar pequenos dragões de komodo em imbatíveis armas de combate. A experiência é mantida em segredo pelo exército. Trinta anos mais tarde, um grupo de pessoas luta para sobreviver em uma ilha. O local é habitado por dragões de komodo gigantes e famintos. Com seus dentes afiados, esses monstros sabem que aquele grupo pode matar suas fomes. É uma corrida contra o tempo. A sorte está lançada.
