Peça criada por Pedro Bloch,fez muito sucesso nos palcos.Dona Xêpa (Alda Garrido) trabalha na feira, onde se diverte e bate boca com os colegas e a vizinhança, deixando sempre à mostra seu temperamento estourado e rude de mulher do povo, para vergonha de sua filha Rosália (Odete Lara), que quer se dá bem e largar a vida de pobreza na vila. Xêpa tem outro filho, o inventor Edson (Herval Rossano), e não mede sacrifícios para que ele possa concluir seu invento, uma máquina geradora de energia nuclear cobiçada por uma gangue de escroques. O texto de Bloch - que aqui tem roteiro de Evangelista e Alípio Ramos - mistura comédia e melodrama.
