1960, Buenos Aires. Valentin é um menino de 9 anos que vive com sua avó, já que seu pai vive ocupado trabalhando e sua mãe está desaparecida desde a separação de seu pai. Solitário, Valentin divide seu tempo sonhando se tornar um astronauta e ouvindo as histórias contadas por sua avó. Seu grande sonho é que seu pai o leve para conhecer sua mãe, mas ele se irrita só de ouvir a simples menção do nome dela. Valentin passa a acreditar que possa ter enfim uma mãe quando conhece Leticia, a mais nova namorada de seu pai.
